My engine is a 2.0D 2008. The fuel pipe that I am replacing is after the HP fuel pump and there is no return on that side apart from the leak off from the injectors so theoretically it should be okay but I wanted to just double check on people's experiences so I don't leave myself stranded. As others have said I didn't think it was bleedable with the the return line popped off as if you have air in the line before the HP pump it wont be able to suck fuel up into it. Time and experience will tell though.

This is what I bought a while back:

As bloders2 first said then.
Got a bit confused with the jam jar technique.

Looked at the Draper tool too. Seems better than many others on Fleabay.

Are the connectors on this the same as the Volvo?
I'd be inclined to fit it pre filter and leave it!

I have looked at a couple of priming bulbs but never been confident on the fittings being correct. And some look very poor quality.
Never had issues with draper items though so this might be a winner.

A bought a "LASER" priming bulb from a local motor factors - paid £18 for it as I was in a hurry - absolute crap, the one way valve didn't work properley and the connections leaked as they were poor mouldings. Suffice to say took it back and used hand held vacuum pump.

I just changed fuel filter on my 1.6 D2 and my friend mechanic had problem starting the car.
Than he told me to get behind steering wheel and crank when he says. First he did suck some fuel with his mouth from as I think pipe that brings fuel to filter and when he felt diesel he quickly attached the pipe and i cranked. Car started and was little rough at first but after minute or little more, started working fine.

Hi, I've got an issue with my C30 1.6D 2009, I tried to remove an injector but desisted as it was not coming up without the proper tool, plugged all back in and now the engine won't start.
I tried to bleed the system by pulling the return line connector, crank the engine..I had some spills of fuel only after 15-20secs of cranking and then connect it back.

The engine won't start anyway...any tips?

Connect a rubber priming bulb to the return connector, squeeze until the primer bulb is hard and keep cranking until it starts. Then quickly detach priming bulb and reconnect the return line. Then keep the engine revs up for a minute or so.
