Thumbs up Replacing Cigar Lighter with Twin USB

I did search the forums but could not find anything that fitted my questions exactly. I have a 2006 S40 2.0D. I have just fitted a dashcam up front by neatly tucking the power cable across the headliner then down the A Pillar on the drivers side then tucked inside the rubber gasket down to the bottom of the dash then across to the waterfall and then tucked up again under the console plastic until I got level with the cigar lighter then fed it up and connected it to the lighter connections, works great, but this then got addictive and I wanted to do more. So, does anybody have any ideas about how or where to find a twin USB socket to replace the standard cigar lighter. It is not easy as the Volvo hole is only 2.5cm wide and all the aftermarket items on AliExpress and Ebay are 3.5cm.

I have already bought a tiny Griffin twin USB charger to push in to the socket but the Volvo cigar lighter is very shallow and the charger protrudes out too far, this does not satisfy my OCD’ness. I want it to look neater and be a flush fit. The actual hole for the front cigar lighter is also just a millimetre or so away from where the gearstick console starts so there is no space for a larger diameter socket. That might work on the rear cigar lighter as there is more space but I want it at the front. If anybody has an alternative idea or knows of a 2.5cm wide twin USB socket please let me know. Thanks in advance

I presume your dashcam would need to be powered all the time while driving, so you won't be needing to discconect power to it. There is enough room inside the center console that you could hide your 12v to USB plug in there and connect to the existing wiring to the 12v socket from below. You can then still use the socket for other things while powering the dashcam and you won't have any unsightly adapters in the open to mess with your head

You can totally hide it by tapping into the rear cigarette lighter under the centre console, wiring in a 2 gang USB socket into that (with a 5V regulator) and then feeding that through the centre cubby hole, keep it in there totally hidden.

If I was doing this mod, I would personally want my flush, twin USB socket in the below spot...Not sure if any space behind the panel though!
