I would climb underneath and have a quick look. I don’t know if it has an under shield or not?

If it’s got genuine corrosion then I would wire brush it back (where you can access) then paint with bilt hamber stuff.

Probably not being over keen, if much of the surface has corrosion then he's right to mention it. The subframes on P3 models seem to deteriorate faster than on P2's.

It depends.

My Dad had a similar advisory on his old MK1 XC90. He took it to get looked at and they laughed at him, nothing wrong. Turns out the tester had just come from a Fiat dealer, where even minor rust meant serious trouble on their thin gauge steel. He never had anything done tomit and in subsequent tests never received that advisory again.

Get the car in the air and assess it properly. Then, if necessary, scurf it off, use some kind of rust killer, then apply the anti rust coating of your choice. Cheap and easy. Only likely to be something to worry about if you do nothing.

Big worry is that piece of metal under the radiator. That is hell of the rust on every s80 and v70. Need to see about that soon
