Default New engine info needed

Hey folks, I'm a noob here and after some help with regards to what engine I need, we have an XC90 2010 which has a seized engine, so looking for help with regards to what engine I need, it's a diesel automatic 2.4l, as far as I seen the code on the side of the timing belt cover is D5244t, I've been told also there are 2 types, one has a plastic rocker cover and another has an alloy, this one has a plastic cover, any advice here is needed or ever help with locating an engine would be amazing.

The ones with the alloy cover where the older Euro 3 163bhp engines (had black plastic engine cover also) these ceased to be fitted around 2006. The engine you have was fitted from that point so getting a used replacement is relatively cheap and easy…

Have a look on eBay, but focus on specialist Volvo dismantlers with good feedback and warranties.

Hi, I have had a good experience with Volvo Saab breakers in Nottingham. I purchased a replacement engine and transfer box on different occasions and both fine.

They will give a one year warranty on their parts but in real terms your costs will be the fitting. Note some come without injectors so make sure you have all the bits you need.

Good opportunity to check out turbo and engine mounts which I suggest you change in any case.

Let is know how you get on.

I am personally not sure of the engine code, but if your car is a Euro 4 (key the reg number into totalcarcheck.com and it will tell you) then any XC90 185 diesel engine from 2006MY to 2010 should work for you.
