Cheers!
It was something to do with the angle of the bit the seatbelt clips into. Apparently it can cause wear so it was changed. Only effects certain models. To be honest, our local dealer were bad about that too...It took them months to get the parts, months to book it in and they were disinterested in everything apart from trying to get more servicing of the car into their books.

All I have is white lithium spray grease I use for the door hinges etc so I guess that should be ok?

I can get some silicone spray if that is better though
I wouldn’t use anything that will attract/ hold dust and fluff.

Dry powder PTFE (Teflon) aerosol spray would penetrate and then dry to provide non sticky dry lubricated surfaces inside the mechanism.

The windscreen on my 2012 V70 is affected by this. Local Volvo garage acknowledged the problem but declined to offer help and suggested I get a new windscreen! Mine is that bad I keep thinking it might fall out every time I brake hard hard!

Contact Volvo Cars UK and ask them which dealership they would nominate to rebond the screen free of charge.
