Default S60 d3 2015 oil consumption

Hi

I am using 0.5ltr of oil every 200 miles in my 2015 s60 2.0 D3 no oil leak and no smoke the garage I bought it from said it’s because it has 100000 miles and the age of the car can anyone give me any ideas what it could be

They trying to fob you off.

If you're you're within 28 days of purchase then don't waste a moment, return it for a full refund.

If you're within 6 months then the Consumer Rights Act applies. The legal presumption is that the fault wasmeither present or developing at the point of sale, and they have to either rectify it or refund.

Are you doing this because the dashboard is telling you or because the oil level has definitely dropped?

The level sensor may not have been reset during the service

Is hasn’t got dipstick so I have only got the electronic oil level on the dashboard

I think theres a grey Technicians Dipstick buried on away down the front of the engine. Its not really intended for owners to ise, but there's nothing stopping you doing so if you can reach it.

No physical dipstick on the VEA engine.

The electronic dipstick and warning messages are pretty good in my experience. High oil consumption is unfortunately a reported problem on the VEA.

Yes. 150 bhp, and a great engine for that car apart from the oil consumption issue.
