Default V60 Recharge and PCP overpayments

So after last years aborted attempt to change cars due to spec changes, I’m having another go, negotiating over a V60 recharge ultimate. Because I paid off my old PCP I’ve got a chunk of value in my car to add to the deal. Two questions:

1 - what sort of discount should I expect from others recent experiences? CarWow is slightly less than the VoC affinity discount so the latter is my baseline but since supply is constrained I’m assuming anything greater is unlikely?

2 - I’m told there is a maximum deposit on PCP which is less than the value of my car, therefore I’ll get a chunk of cash back from the PX. Do Volvo finance let you pay this off the PCP loan after month 1 therefore reducing the remaining monthly payments?

Thanks!

I have not ‘Played the Game’ as I call it in the last two years, but I would think your assumption will be on the ball regarding any discounts, with the current situation with supply and demand the dealers hold the cards. As you intimated CarWow is usually a good indicator of available discounts when the bids start rolling in. My current car is through the Affinity Scheme, I have found this just edges it in the lead with some of the benefits that you would not get normally.

From my understanding the maximum deposit for a PCP is 40%, and Santander certainly allow you to make lump payments. I think, but don’t hold me to this, that the extra payment would reduce the monthly amount, rather than the Final Payment/GMFV, which is set at the outset.

Thanks, that’s helpful. I fear there may be game playing from them already as the affinity discount they offered was 2k less than what it should have been based on the Volvo website… I’ll settle for the proper affinity discount and a fair price for my car but at the moment I have neither…
