BLIS / CTA issue.
Just got my car back after bodywork repairs to the rear nearside specifically on and above the wheel arch. (Volvo approved repairer). Now the BLIS is throwing spurious warnings, sometimes nearside , sometimes offside and occasionally both together. I also suspect that CTA isn't working. Everything turned on and no dash warnings. Before taking it up with the repairers Monday AM can anyone confirm exactly where the sensors are located. I'm sure they're behind the rear 'bumper' which was undermanaged but undoubtly removed . Are there any others maybe above the arch or even in front of it.
Many thanks

The BLIS/CTA sensor location is shown here for the C90, it’s similar in my V60 so I assume the 90 is similar too. It gets affected if the paint is too think so if they’ve blended in a repair that might have caused trouble. Of course an approved repairer should know that…

Had a similar issue with a 2015 XC60 following a rear end shunt.
Following body repairs BLIS either wouldn’t detect vehicles or it would pick static items up like crash barriers. I had the body shop with the assistance of the dealer look at it several times, tried recalibration but no to avail. The insurer even paid £800 for new BLIS sensors still not working correctly. In the end Volvo themselves got involved and recommended that the bracket that holds the BLIS sensor inside the body panel be replaced ….. Lo & behold it worked. Theory was either the body shop had disturbed it or it had been a result of the shunt. The near side was the worst offender, offside appeared to work fine. Hope this helps. |
