Default Vacuum Hose Split ??

Hi,

Lovely sunny day, so first wash for the newish to me 940, as the first one I used it as a bit of an opportunity to spot any areas needing attention.

Anyway whilst checking fluid levels noticed a split under vacuum hose that goes onto turbo from the inlet manifold, photo attached. May or may not be leaking???

Am going to get a couple of metres of vac hose from Brookhouse tomorrow.

What symptoms would a leak here cause??

Cheers
Steve

Wished I'd known that when I sent you the bulbs Steve as I have plenty of vac hose in garage. You are probably ok being the split is right at the end though

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the offer, no problem, I am picking some up Monday so I have a couple of metres in stock as it is 27 years.

Oh, have updated my rear suspension thread, problem identified.... rather red face here

Cheers

If that's where/what i think it is, a split there will cause it to go like stink up to a point when the overboost kicks in on the ECU and you feel like you've hit a brick wall! Like Mark says, being right at the end, you could snip the last half inch off and refit without problems if there's enough slack in the hose.

I bought silicone black hose and replaced a lot of mine as a precautionary move a while back, it’s a lot more flexible and pretty cheap.

I wouldn't do the PCV vacuum hose in silicone as oil and silicone hose don't get on very well and will deteriorate. The rest should be fine though, I really must do them on my 940 and 760 turbo!
