92 940 S piston slap
Hello again,
Just been scouring the forums for about a week with regard to this ominous sound coming from what seems to be the top end of my B200F engine. Its not so much of a ticking, more of a clacking noise, sounds like the Predator is under the hood xD. I have put 20w50 in and it has made a little difference, the sound does fade once the engine is up to operating temp, so I don't think its rod knock. The question is, is it really nothing to be too concerned about?. I have seen mixed opinions, some saying save for a new engine or that there is nothing to worry about lol.. Tbf I like the car so much I would be daft enough to put another engine in it if anything happened. I see no signs of any oil burning just a slight misfire, the car pulls and drives well. Another question My horn is intermittent I think it's the grounding cable that sticks through the steering wheel is having problems with the ring that sits behind it. Any info on fixing that would be great.. Also the biting point on the clutch, is it normal for it to be quite high, or should I be getting ready for a clutch replacement. No slipping and the pedal feels light (Been in a few vehicles where the clutch is shagged, and the pedal is stiff and feels terrible.) Thanks for any pointers, much appreciated.. Anyone with a spare instrument cluster would be awesome too as I have the infamous knackered speedo and odometer, tried a different sensor in the diff and the wires look good on the connector.. Any good recommended GPS speedos in case thats the best option?. I will try to repair it but I may fail lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJU5qYNrbQQ here is a video of that noise.. You can hear it change pitch, I think that has something to do with the oil getting to that particular area??. |
