Default Thermostat

Can anyone help me to source a thermostat for a 20/10 xc60?

It has a D5244T engine.

I've searched this forum and google but can't find the correct part.

Do I need the whole housing or just the thermostat, spring and gasket?

Any links or part numbers appreciated.

Look up a thread, posted by BestGear, back in Mar 2011. Entitled “Thermostat Replacement - Guide”. A comprehensive write-up with pictures.

Thanks for the reply Deck1ng,

I've seen that post before but it's for a D52447 engine not a D5244T.

My thermostat appears to be on the opposite side of the engine.

Looks like I'll have buy one from a Volvo dealer.

Couple of days ago I downloaded the Autodoc app. When you enter your vehicle details into the app, anc searching for a part, it does give you an OEM number. Worth a try.

No it doesn't nor does any XC60.
First job is get the correct D5 model version then take it from there.....
You can decode the 17 digit chassis number in Vida or a good parts supplier will provide you with the correct part with no further research.

Lonsdale, where is that sticker stuck, I’ll see if I have one and what it says.

As previously mentioned, the engine code is embedded in the 17 digit VIN so post your chassis number not a timing cover label.

Volvo stopped the Euro 3 D5 in 2005 and replaced with the Euro 4 long before the XC60 was even being produced.
The D5244 block continued to be used as did some ancillary parts but that doesn't mean that you have a D5244T.

If your XC60 is indeed a 2010, it will have a D5244T10, D5244T14 or D5244T16

Remove the engine top cover, it's located on the o/s of the engine.

Thanks for the reply,

Volvo dealer confirms it's a D5244T10.

VIN YV1DZ7046A2115711

Using AutoDoc (thanks Deck1ng) I think I've got the correct OEM no:

31293556, is this the correct part number?
