I have only had mine since January this year but have piles of Volvo service reciepts, although I seem to be missing the checklist on the 100,000 mile service. As the guy I bought it from paid his dealer £600+ for servicing etc the day before he sold the car to me I'd think he was a 'no expence spared' type owner.

As the car has now covered 135,000 miles now I guess that I will try a full flush on the gearbox in the 1st instance and go from there.

Just some feedback on this, I noticed something this morning, when parking.

Normally, when I select reverse, if the car has just been in neutral (where it is normally) or park, reverse is pretty unoticable - much the same as drive. I only notice it more, if I'm moving from drive to reverse, fairly quickly, as you would do when parking.

So when parking, this morning, when moving from drive to reverse, I just paused in neutral briefly - just that, paused slightly (maybe a second) then put it in reverse (as opposed to just simply pushing the lever from drive to reverse), and that was barely noticable (just the same as engaging drive.

I did it a couple of times, so it definitely makes a difference. I'm always careful to ensure the car is stationary before using reverse or drive, so I'm not talking about that scenario.

Maybe worth checking to see if reverse is as noticable with a brief pause before putting in reverse?

I would have thought it normal to always have the brake pedal pressed when engaging drive or reverse?
