Default EGR cleaner....??🙄

I wonder if anyone could help??

I'm about to spray some egr cleaner into the air manifold of my V50 2.0D , without the hope of cleaning it up a bit( have a smokey acceleration issue) will it just clog my dpf..

I also had a suspicion that my crankcase pressure was the issue, is there an oil catch can or pcv valve I should check...

What are you hoping to achieve with it? If it's cleaning the EGR I'd wager it won't. When my EGR began to block I removed it to clean and getting the oily soot off with a wire brush was a challenge. Ultimately, for me, all attempts to clean it failed and I had to replace it.

If it's sufficiently funked up to cause issues then trying to clean in situ isn't going to work.

I would suggest removing the egr valve and cooler along with associated pipes and giving them a good soak in oven cleaner, rinse with boiling water from a kettle and repeat until acceptable.

There's a few YouTube videos showing the process.

So I didn't use the aerosol, but chose to take off egr and clean it( wasn't stuck or too dirty) remove the throttle housing( not too bad either) .cleaned everything up!! Air intake on the other hand was very oily so cleaned as far as I could reach.

So my thoughts are a block in the PCV system/pipe/ valve... Has anyone got any tips on clearing it?? Would greatly appreciate a diagram
