RE: rear drivers side abs sensor
Hi Richard
What car do you have? You may be seeing the spurious Volvo error here. On my V70 R AWD, my TRACS/ABS light was coming on and the OBD11 tool at Volvo said it was an O/S rear ABS sensor but, experience told them that in fact it was the ABS ECU in the engine compartment and this was changed and resolved the problem. I would say then that it is best to be sure of the actual error. If it is genuinely your O/S/R sensor, I am not sure of the actual wiring path! Hope this is of some help!

RE: rear drivers side abs sensor
Hi
thanks for that i went to volvo and they reset my ecu and cleared the errors and i went back the next day and they read the codes again and it said rear drivers side sensor was faulty. I took my rear discs of and cleaned sensors. could it be the ecu then or what ???????????????? Thanks Richard sorry forgot 1996 850 R |

RE: rear drivers side abs sensor
Hi
I had exactly the same error on my '95 T5. Volvo replaced the drivers side rear sensor (about £200) and the problem did not go away. They also did a wiring mod which didn't fix it either. In the end I bought a new ECU through the owners club supplier and fitted it myself in about 20 minutes. Expensive (£225 I think) but solved all the problems. Remanufactured ECUs are also available and I believe this is a common symptom/fault. My car does not have TRACS. Andy |
