Default cost of new bumper, indicator and fog lamp ?

Had a small prang today resulting in needing a new bumper, nearside indicator and fog lamp. My insurance company wants me to go to an independant bodyshop but im not too sure.Anyone have any ideas how much more a Volvo dealership bodyshop would be as opposed to the independant and are pattern bumpers available for the v70 t5?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you insist on Volvo parts to maintain any warranty you have (whether you have one or not, frankly) you should get the same result wherever you go provided you check thoroughly after the job is done.

Chances are that there aren't many or indeed any non-Volvo bits out there anyway for bodywork, so the cheap option may not exist.

the place where your car is repaired is your decision, if you wish for a main agent to repair it then thats your right, insurance companies have ther own "approved bodyshops" which they will try and pressure you into using as its in there interests to do so,dont be railroaded by them, its your choice!

It drives me mad when insurance companies expect you to take the car to an independent bodyshop usually branded an 'authorised repairer' to save them cash! Did you pay your premium in false bank notes? No thought not, so why should you expected to risk a poor repair?

I'm not saying all bodyshops are poor, but I dislike insurance companies calling the shots and forgetting about customer service after you've paid your renewal.

Rant over!

Visited the independant body shop today and was re assured when they stated they will only buy the parts from my local volvo dealer as the bumper for the cd spec is not available from alternative supliers and it comes pre painted from volvo anyway.Should only be a couple of hours work to take off the old bumper and fit a new one and at least i can continue to drive the car so feeling a little happier about it all.
cheers
