What's the best way to diagnose the bearing and rule out other driveline noises such as rear axle and 4 wheel drive system?

I've just priced up some bearings and can get FAG for around £80 each but i am in the trade.
try swinging the car left then right , as the weight goes on and off the bearing the loudness should vary ..

I only got 150,000 odd kms, out of my factory bearings. Started clicking forward reverse. Went to a good aftermarket bearing.

i got to drive the car again this week, the noise comes and goes and most of the time isn't there, it developed as a whinning noise this time and on steering right and loading weight to the left wheels the noise went and didn't return for another 50 miles. Just need to find out if it's front or back now.
