My 164 for sale. Only owned it since March!!!
I think I indicated recently that we are selling up and moving back to Oz asap for family reasons, after 3 wonderful years living lochside in Godzone Country (no...NOT the USA, which can only be described right now as Godforsaken country). I refer, of course, to SCOTLAND. Land of the low cloud (of midgies) and haggis eaters. I think I may also have indicated that I'd be taking my beloved "new" 164 with me. Common sense now dictates, though, that if we want a relatively painless and burden-free emigration back to the land of barbies and blowflies, I'm going to have to change that plan. So my 164 is now on Gumtree. Ad ID: 1374285666 or try entering 1971 Volvo 164 in the search box. I've already had one scammer message, so somebody is paying attention!! Now I'm going to go and lock myself in a cupboard and cry. |

SOLD. In under 24 hours, and for a fair drop on what it's cost me so far. But that is a relief, plus the fact that my Morrie Minor has also gone, or at least will soon be in company with the 164 via truck for southern climes. It means a huge reduction of the height of the logistical mountain we still have to climb in the next few weeks (anyone want a lovely old stone lochside house that looks across to the Isle of Skye?).
I've also promised one of the Freelander 2s to a friend, which just leaves me with another older Freelander 2 and a trailer to move when we finally head for Oz (asap). The friend is even debating taking those too. It's been a good place to visit, this forum, even if only for a short time, and if I can land another 164, or a 144 or 5, or an Amazon, or even a 240, though that feels a bit too modern for me, I'll be back on line from Oz. Regards, Lee |

Alas, poor Yorick. . . Well, good luck with your move, an hope all turns out well with family. I confess, i'd crate up a newly bought 164 an send it over, can't be too much of a headache? Ah, sold now, ok. There are, in fact, loads of drool-worthy vehicles over there, you'll not be bereft o'er long. Fair winds an tides.
