Anyone lowered their Cabrio and regretted it?
Hi all,
I bought a Koni str.t lowering kit for my c70 prior to the pandemic so it's sitting in my garage waiting to be fitted. Just having a mild case of buyers remorse so seeing if any of you have lowered your car and regretted it. Cheers for any feedback. |

Going away from standard suspension has both pros & cons:
Pros - better stance (subjective) & better handling (depends how fresh your original suspension was & the quality of the aftermarket kit) Cons - stiffer ride (also depends on wheel choice, low profile tyres = reduced comfort), longevity (oem suspension will always out last aftermarket amd put less stress on other components eg emgine mounts, wishbone bushings etc...) You'll also be wise to inform your insurance company of the aftermarket suspension. Shouldn't increase premiums, but shiny & often colourful aftermarket shocks & springs are an easy spot for a loss adjustor in the case of an accident, which will invalidate your insurance if not declared. Personally I don't have a problem with lowering a car, it's easily reversible if you dont like it, and can often breathe new life into knackered old suspension set ups. Try it, you might like it! The ability to go around a bend at full speed 1% of the time
is not worth all the damage to your back for the other 99%. And your car! When they say increase your handling and maintain comfort They are lying, subjective or not A Swaybar upgrade can give you both I just removed my bar from a 2004 XC70 The bar is hollow and weighs about half as much as the replacement So it's new struts and shocks Sachs, sound springs and bars for me and of course all the rest
