Default SC901 cd wire ??

Hello,

I was testing the original 3 disc changer back on my sc-901 radio, and I can't get it to work because I have seen the stupid previous owner of my car cut the cable that is connected to the "CD" jack ....

Does anyone know where this cable comes from ??
I have been investigating and I have seen that the "dolby" comes from the amplifier that is a little below the radio but the cable that I need is the one that is connected to the "CD" plug but I cannot follow the wiring because it is hidden inside the car between a lot of cables ...

I need to know to buy the piece where that cable comes from

Greetings from Spain!

Howdy Viking

I am sure somebody will beat me to it but if they do not I am removing my 901 this weekend to fit a Yatour digital interface

Some of the chaps on here are so clever they will probably tell you without even looking at the head unit - I am back up if you need me !!!!

So that’s the wiring to the rear cd changer in the boot which I think is there even if you don’t have one in the boot

This would not stop the front loading changer working, and it sounds as tho there is a fault there instead

thanks Bigfella666!

Sabink then the "CD" plug is only for reading the rear CD / S charger in the trunk?

Now that I think about it, it tends to be logical, the load of 3 CDs makes it work inside the radio, so I still have the problem in the radio or in the 3 disc charger, right?

I insert the 3disc changer into the radio and the load movement seems correct, but when it is reading the CD, the message appears saying that it does not detect any CD in the magazine and automatically ejects the disc changer.
The cds are in their correct position and clean.

The CD and the one in the dash will both look for a reflection off the disc then spin it to read the data.

If it detects no discs my money is on the laser assy not seeing a reflection from it. A new laser will cure it.

I would personally ditch the CD in the boot and add an interface to it for Bluetooth, and keep the 3 Disc CD for playing CDs

I have investigated a bit the laser you are talking about, and I see that there are people who give it the same fault and they have solved it by disassembling the laser reader and cleaning it with a specific product, I think it is something easy and without cost so I will try to disassemble the radio and clean it to see if I'm lucky ..

Regarding a bluetooth interface, it is fine but I am delighted that the charger works also in all my cars I always use the CD since I have a huge amount of music on CDs.I like cd music sound

If it does not work I will have to get a cd charger for the trunk and its wiring.

Well thank you all very much and I will prove nothing to do that cleaning.
I'll update the problem as soon as I've tried it,

Hello Viking

The cd connector joins the main connector and on my car is labelled with a sticker marked R. As another comrade has suggested that might well suggest rear. The entire harness then disappears towards the firewall

I have taken a pic if this might be of any help please provide an email address and I shall send

Paul
