RE: Fitting A/C to a non-A/C 850
Hello Simon,
Thanks very much for your input. Let me ponder on what I'm letting myself in for. I will contact your man re the new evaporator to check the cost. I'll also have a good phone around to check on cost of a fresh aftermarket install. Would you think said aftermarket system would offer 'all year round' use? Thanks. Phil |

RE: Fitting A/C to a non-A/C 850
For anyones info I e-mailed several companies re my A/C install interest and just got off the phone with a good chap in Kent who sent me the following. Note the comment re the evaporator which I brought up in conversation:
Many thanks for your enquiry and our conversation this evening. Just to confirm, the installed cost of Diavia air conditioning for your 1992 Volvo 850 Estate is GBPounds 1,195.00 + v.a.t., installed here at Edenbridge (M25, J6 + 20 minutes south-east) over the course of three days. The warranty is one year unlimited mileage excluding accidental damage but, because of the quality of the system, we usually take a relaxed view of any problems which occur within a reasonable time of the warranty expiring. I confirm that the evaporator core is copper. Comments please. Phil |
