I have a spare engine - B230FK - that I (stupidly?) bought which I was told was running well - it sits in the back of the car where the dogs used to go! The clutch will need replacing at the same time. It also has no back callipers - these I took off for replacement and they have duly vanished! There is a little rust. I am now disabled and can't do large jobs on it any more. I had a quote for this second engine to be re-built at over 2K. What to do? Do I scrap? Sell as a project? (How much would it be worth?). All more difficult as I live near Land's End!

I have just posted about help needed for my V70 as well - it keeps stalling.

At least my 'K' Reg 440 is still pottering on - although it's loosing water - -

Any ideas would be gratefully received at:

Thanks very much,
Kenneth (aka Buryan).
I think if anyone would be to buy your 940 it would be for breaking and only fetch a few hundred as it stands and it is the most likely option.

If the turbo "went" and it started using oil then chances are the turbo seals went and oil has been forcing its way past them and has filled the intercooler. If it ran well other than that chances are it just needs the turbo off the other engine fitting, intercooler and pipes cleaning out, new rear calipers, clutch, service, brake fluid change and an MOT. It all depends on how much you are willing to pay for it to be done. If you were a lot closer I would be offering to buy it and break it or to do the work to get it going again but I'm a long way from you.

Whatever you do, do NOT scrap it as someone will bite your hand off for it. If I hadn't recently paid the deposit on another 940 I would be offering to buy it straight away.

I have a spare set of rear calipers if you are interested. I was going to refurbish them but I've now got another set from my breaker. They are in bits but could be sent off to get refurbed if you wanted
