Hi, I'll PM you when I can accommodate - not sure about this weekend yet as busy with some other things.

Have you changed the fluid etc yet - as I doubt a re-adaption via Vida will cure an underlying physical issue?

Also I can't take any responsibility for issues that may arise as a result of this - I know a number of people have done this and made matters worse. Just want you to be aware it isn't risk free in that sense.

Hi. Looks like a very thorough write up. I'm having the same issues, very heavy downshift from 3rd to 2nd when warm after a fairly heavy brake. Also, slips and fails to engage sometimes up through the gears.

Am I to presume this would be a similar process to go through for a 2006 V50 D5?

Regards

Hi, dont know if i am the right area. My 2003 s60 fwd had harsh down shift coming to a stop. I changed the oil with 3309 and no improvement but now with harsh upshift as well. Both conditions only when hot. What is it in the box that goes wrong, the solenoids or valve body. What happens when it gets hot? Would software fix my problem? i should say no upshift flares only harsh shifts
Cheers

is it 100% confirmed that you have to drop the subframe on a S60?

I wouldn't mind changing my solenoids but not if I need to drop the frame

Not dropping it completely, just lower it in front and loosen the rear bolts. Much care of what needs disconnected, as explained here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RJyYRQxbZA

How do you PROPERLY put the car in adaptation mode. I tried with the engine running it said can't communicate or similar. So I did it with off but key in pos II. Was successful at resetting adaptation but it didn't put it into the learning more as described where the triangle lights up etc. Additionally the other functions say to read off the serial number of the TCM before using. Hie do you do that. (all in Vida 2014d)

If you look in the video at about 59:10, I think it says on the screen the procedure. I only remember once we unhooked the Vida/Dice, I started the engine and got a message on the DIM like 'transmission fluid warmed up'. Then I put in in D and drove around (all adaptations with the yellow triangle flashing must be completed before shutting off the engine).

It is very important to do this in summer time and to have the transmission already fully warmed up to at least 60C before hooking Vida. This way, when driving to relearn the adaptations, the transmission is already warmed up and the computer can start the learning thing. If the transmission is not at least at 60C, the computer will not engage the learning procedure, even if the adaptations are reset in Vida. Speaking of the transmission temperature, it is very different than that of the engine, the engine can be long fully warmed up, and the transmission still not have reached 60C, especially in winter time because the fluid is continuously cooled down by the front radiator. Perhaps good to check in Vida what is the transmission fluid temperature.

It was 72 so won't be that. It'll be about doing it in correct order

Would this guide work on a 2011 Volvo V60 D5 2.4?
