C30 2.0 Petrol
Hello everybody.
I'm new in this forum and my english is far to be good, so I kindly ask your patience ! I have just reserved a C30 2.0 petrol and I would like to know if the engine is a typical swedish one or, like others (e.g. the 2.0 D) comes from the Ford factory. Furthermore, I found no opinions/tests about this engine, perhaps because nowadays, everybody wants the T5, or the diesel ones. Your sincere impressions would be very useful to me. Thanks in advance to all the members of this forum, Marco (Milan, Italy) |

Hi there I have driven the 2.0 D engine in a V50 and found it to be a very good engine. It did not have to be worked hard, and was very quiet at all speeds. Also the saving in mpg (and money) makes it a very tempting option. Good choice

Man, you live Italy, the home of the sports car and car enthusiast... why not get the T5! Good choice on the C30, though

I found the answer...
Eventually I found the answer to my question.
"The 145bhp 2.0 is a Mazda-derived unit" as stated here: http://www.channel4.com/4car/rt/volvo/c30/1042/2 I am not happy, I do not love Mazdas at all. |

Hi, I tested the C30 2.0 petrol and found it to be a very entertaining drive. The engine revs freely, there is adequate torque and performance is brisk. You will not be disappointed! In the end I chose a 1.6D but - apart from fuel economy and emissions - I would have been more than happy with the 2.0 petrol.

I have had my C30 2.0 SE Sport for just over a month now. I have found it a very lively car, quicker than my S40 2.0 CD. It returns about 39mpg on a run and around 29mpg in town driving. I have to be careful my right foot does not get too excited!
