Wanted V70 Diesel with Manual Gearbox
After 4 years of living without a Volvo, I'm now hankering for another one. So I'm on the lookout for a Mk2 V70
Must Have's Diesel Engine with Manual Gearbox Mileage of circa 200k (but lower wouldn't be a problem ). The cambelt must be good for another few years. The Clutch and DMF must have been changed. You have the full V5, and the car isn't SORN. Be within fairly easy reach of the south coast, Stanstead, or East Midlands airport. At least 9 months MOT No DPF I'm not interested in 4x4's or autos Given the lack of V70's offered for sale on the forum of late, I certainly won't be holding my breath, but if you don't ask you don't get.............and I'm a tight git so no optimistic asking prices please. Cars with minor problems wouldn't be a problem as long as they are capable of being driven back to my gaff in NW France without any issues. I will need the full V5 (try registering a car over here without one) and will need to get it out of the UK without stumping up for road tax so please don't offer me any SORN vehicles unless you can transport them to a ferry port. Cheers Lee

You can’t transfer ‘road tax’ any more. The new owner has to apply for it at the time of sale; this can be done online or via the 24hr phone line.

It's not simply a case of trying to avoid paying for a months RFL - it's more a case of not being allowed to purchase it. I no longer have a UK address, therefore I cannot obtain UK car insurance............ergo I can't obtain a RFL The plan is to get the car out of the UK on the day of purchase. The car will of course be insured, but it won't be via a uk insurance company. The RFL situation is an absolute farce, and yet another example of the uk government (of all political persuasions) taking the absolute "P" out of the motorist, and using them as a cash cow.
