Thanks for your replies. I won't be paying 9.99 a month for spotify I don't think it's worth it I could download 1 to 2 albums a month for that price. Shame we can't use the free version id be happy with the odd ad.

It's barely worth connecting the car to the internet I'll just stick with tethering my phone for RTTI. Even that's a bit of a rip off the last sensus used travel master (I suspect) and you didn't need anything additional for that it just worked!

Add to the list of steps back for volvo in addition to the removal of the 40 40 20 rear seat.

Download 1 or 2 albums per month compared to accessing literally millions of songs on demand??

True but there are a lot of known artists that dont use Spotify as a platform for their music. I think that the price to access the service is a bit high in my opinion. I used the paid version for 3 months and I decided to quit.

When I first got my V90 I wanted to test out all of the sensus applications so I tried Spotify on the 99p for 3 months subscription deal which was great in the car. I cancelled the subscription before the £9.99 a month kicked in and then used the free version on my phone tethered to the car for a couple of months as a comparison, again it worked well but a bit limited and with annoying adverts.

I've now subscribed to the full Spotify at £9.99 as we use it a lot, both in the car and at home. I think it's quite good value for money.

I am using Apple Music but as my new Volvo is coming this month, I plan to try Spotify (1 month free) to see if I like it more, then potentially I will switch, the price is basically the same. Although I am happy with Apple Music, I expect it to be kind of cumbersome to connect the iphone to carplay everytime, compared to built-in Spotify app, which needs just a BT internet connection that connects automatically without me intervening (or at least should as I read about issues some people have )

All depends on how you use it I'd say. If you have your old favourites on rotation, it's not for you. If you like discovering new music, it's superb value at the cost of one digital download a month for almost anything you might want.

Personalised playlists and new recommendations based on your listening habits are superb.

For something different check out radio paradise. Has a great app for android apple firestick etc. For Volvo can be reached on tune in but unfortunately without track skip, album images or offline cache.

Commercial free listener supported eclectic mix. If you like them do support them by buying a t shirt or pinging a small donation. I listen to RP more than any other station including Spotify.

You could split the cost, if there's somebody else you know who might be interested?

£14.99 for a family account but can have 5 different accounts attached to it, so potentially £3 each a month.

Or,

If you have someone you know in full time education, get them to lend you their school or UNI email login and get it for £4,99 per month.

Bargain.

What do you do instead?

As someone who probably has 10,000*+ quids worth**, Spotify is a truly amazing thing and I can listen to so much more than I'd otherwise be exposed to and have discovered so many artists I'd otherwise never heard.

*Thats 83 years worth of Spotify

**well spent, prob worth about 300 quid now
