No audio after cd got stuck
My Volvo V70 from 2009 has a problem with the audio system. It started when a cd got stuck in the cd player. When i turn on the audio system it shows the volvo car on the screen briefly but then shuts down again. Also the beeping from the reversing sensor doesn't come through anymore. I've read out the error codes and it says that there is a communication error in the MOST system. I've disassembled the cd player from the car and tested without it, but it doesn't solve anything. I also disassembled the cd player itself and with a 9v battery ejected the cd. when i put it together again in the car, the eject button in the car worked once (it sounded like it wanted to eject something, although I already got the cd out). I've been looking for a replacement CD player, as it looks like that's what has crashed the system. The cd player is a Fomoco 31285459 btw.
Do any of you know if a broken cd player could cause such a error? Thanks in advance! |

Bypass the CD player on the MOST bus and see if the bus and audio systems spring into life.
If it does you have identified the dead device.

Hi SwissXC90,
Thanks for the info! In the end it turned out to be the ipod/usb input device that was broken which was also connected to the MOST bus. When I bridged it over there it all came back online, nothing wrong with the CD player luckily... |

The AUU can be bypassed easily by removing the panel beside the drivers knee and disconnecting it from the MOST ring (in my 2008 s80) |
