Default UEM reset, sequence question??

When you reset the UEM, you have to lock/unlock lock/unlock the car to complete the reset.

Now my question is this, do you use the key to do this remotely, in the car door lock, or the switch on the drivers door module?

Fairly sure you need to use the remote keyfob to do this - I wanted to reset it in my old S60 as the keyfobs didn't work and couldn't complete it, it didn't work from the door switch or key.

Well that's interesting, I have tried that sequnce, using the key fob, several times to fix what has been called a lazy locking sequence, where the drivers door locks and then the others follow on slightly after, with the rear drivers side door sometimes not locking at all, but it has not worked.

However, the other day I tried the sequence again, only this time I used the switch on the drivers door pack to do the locking/unlocking and it has worked a treat! now all the doors lock at the same time with a reassuring clunk.

Maybe it's just one of those weird Volvo things!!

Default Resetting UEM works but does not last

I can reset the UEM using both the key fob and door lock button. Once done everything (locks, sunroof, upper lights, door locks, garage door opener) works for a short time (maybe an hour) then everything stops working again. Is there any way to make it permanent? Do I have to erase codes or something. Any help would be appreciated. It is a 2007 S60 Volvo.

Sounds like a quasi permanent fault and a code read will be needed to figure out what exactly.
What are the symptoms when it goes bad?
A common cause of locking trouble is a stick switch at the bonnet or hood.
A good slam shut can free things up.
