Did you find that the actuator arm didn't move when it was told to do so?
My neighbour has my jack and axle stands on semi permanent loan. When I needed them back he was away on holiday for 2 weeks, so I wasn't able
to get in to check it.

I wondered why they said this initially but found a thread here where someone
had replaced the actuator along side a rebuilt turbo and wasn't able to get
the two to work together.

He ended up getting a new turbo/actuator.

I also presume the reason the actuator had gone is that the turbo vanes had
started to jam up, so this would have needed rebuilt too.

?

Hi all

2004 D5 163 113k

I was hoping to get some advice.

I had a re-conditioned turbo fitted last Friday since the original turbo failed.

What are the chances that an incorrect turbo has been fitted?

Reason i ask this is at higher top end speeds felt as if the turbo had no more OOMPH whereas previously this was not the case.

It depends who fitted it. Check the invoice for part number.

It could be the inlet guide vane actuator. Check it for movement using a vacuum pump on the hose. You could have a vacuum leak or failed vacuum pump. Go through the system carefully using a vacuum pump/gauge.
