I wondered why they said this initially but found a thread here where someone
had replaced the actuator along side a rebuilt turbo and wasn't able to get the two to work together. He ended up getting a new turbo/actuator. I also presume the reason the actuator had gone is that the turbo vanes had started to jam up, so this would have needed rebuilt too. ? Nial |

Hi all
2004 D5 163 113k I was hoping to get some advice. I had a re-conditioned turbo fitted last Friday since the original turbo failed. What are the chances that an incorrect turbo has been fitted? Reason i ask this is at higher top end speeds felt as if the turbo had no more OOMPH whereas previously this was not the case. |

It depends who fitted it. Check the invoice for part number.
It could be the inlet guide vane actuator. Check it for movement using a vacuum pump on the hose. You could have a vacuum leak or failed vacuum pump. Go through the system carefully using a vacuum pump/gauge.
