2018 XC60 T5 Daytime running lights

Where do most folks have it set. is auto OK.

I always keep mine on auto because when you turn off the ignition the lights go off. If you set them to side lights they stay on after ignition switched off. I don't mean the way the lights can be set to go off after so many seconds but in sidelight mode they stay on permanently unless anything has changed on the latest cars. Mine is a XC90 MY17.

Just leave the lights in auto and forget about them, the side light setting mentioned above are parking lights and as said will stay on when car left locked up.
In auto mode you cant leave lights on and flatten your battery as they go off when engine turned off.

Always Auto. No exceptions.

The front DRLs come on with the ignition regardless of switch setting. In Auto mode, the rear position lights also come on with the ignition to act as rear DRLs (on my XC90 and I assume other models).

I leave mine permanently in Auto mode.

Auto is Volvo’s reccommended setting as well, not that one has to follow their recommendation but there must be a reason for them to do that.
