Default V50 Upholstery restoration. Restore driver's seat?

What would be the best way to restore the wear and tear on the drivers seat? Thanks in advance.

It depend on how far you want to go.

The wear on the backrest bolster just needs cleaning and some dye re-applying to cover the wear. I've used www.dynamixdyes.com successfully, but there are many different brands on the market.

The seat cushion is more problematic: the leather on the side bolster has become stretched and saggy due to the foam upholstery underneath breaking down. It is the moulded foam that gives the upholstery its shape, the leather just covers the foam. It either needs new foam upholstery or alternatively you could find a front passenger seat and swap the seat cushion over - most models are not handed. Passenger seats get little wear in comparison to drivers seats and are much more numerous and cheaper second hand.

I had my V50 drivers seat refurbed by Volvo, you can still get the seat squab. It’s actually worth the investment to replace the seat squab, makes your seT nice and comfy.
