6 disc changer for S40

Have possible chance to buy a 6 disc volvo CD changer, currently its fitted on an 850, is this likely to fit in my S40??

Would appreciate some feed back

I have been doing a little research on this for my S40 - see this thread.

If the head unit is a SC-xxx type then these were made by Alpine and can take a 6 disc changer. So if the 850 has a SC head unit then IMHO you should be ok. If not then you can get an aftermarket 6 disc unit with an adapter (google for VOLA1 or VOLA2 - single DIN and double DIN size - example click here). It's down to the interface between the 2 units, Alpine's apparently is M-bus (whatever that means
