I think my adjuster is bust maybe adjusted out too far. It's not going back in as your diagrams suggest. Maybe I will disconnect it from the splitter and try to re thread it

Could be knackered - if taking all apart maybe worth buying new cable from Volvo and replace front part from pedal to splitter?

OMG - my wife was reporting the car is squeaking so looked into it this w/e; discovered that the brake cable was only connected to one side and the pads were stuck on. We have owned the car just over a year so previous owner obviously had done nothing about it and it passed the MOT with only one side working. I should have thought this through when I added the break adjusters and discovered that the nearside drum lining was rusty!
Had to remove centre console to access brake cables - was not too difficult in the end but glad I did it as now know how it all works and how to get access. Would recommend as said by someone in another post that whenever adjusting the cable you look under the console where the to rear cables join the front as it way too easy for one or both to jump of the yoke.
