Just back from a survey of whats in the container, but not dressed to heave things about: did take some pictures though, as I want people to know what they are letting themselves in for (weight and oil-wise)! Will send relevant ones to those I have email addresses for, to confirm.
I counted 6 full B18/20 engines (not sure which is what): 1 B18/20 block: 1 B16 block (not for sale though): 1 Saab V4 engine (not for sale yet): 3 full B30 engines: 1 B30E engine fitted with 4-speed gearbox: 1 B20E engine (reserved for Brock): 1 340 engine: 1 340 head and block seperate (don't know if 1.4 or 1.7): 7 auto gearboxes (Malc couldn't be sure if floor-change or column at this stage): 5 4-speed gearboxes and several starters, servo's and P/S pumps, all from dismantled B18/B20/B30-engined cars. There are also a pair of B30 engines covered, outside, one being injection (for Pigeon). I'm sorry I couldn't confirm which are B18s and which are B20s, all I remember is that I have got through several Volvo 140s over the years! That goes for my axles too, although (Adam) I know I have an Amazon estate one. Problems: Brock your B20E is right at the back (!) so maybe left till last? All heavy parts were put in using a fork truck plus driver, so nothing treated too roughly; I heard today he could be available to assist collectors if his fuel is paid-for, which would save a lot of grief! Will email known wanters after downloading my pictures. Paul |

Photos received, thanks!
Yes, if the fork-lift bloke can make it that would be an enormous help. Quote:
All else being equal I would prefer an engine with a lower engine number, as the quoted power outputs got progressively less over time and I don't know how much of that is different injection calibration and how much is actual differences in the head and porting - the power output would still be ample, but if the restriction is due to head/porting differences the efficiency of the engine is also reduced, and it is that which is my prime concern. Unless you reckon one of them's tatered of course In photo 011.JPG, from the position of the vents in the bellhousing relative to the bolts, I think the most conspicuous auto box is for the inclined engine in the 240/740, and I also think it is possible - though I am much less sure - that it might be a 4-speed; if it is I'm definitely interested in it. (As well as, as I said, one of the auto boxes for a B30.) Got a couple more thoughts but they're a bit unformed as yet, so I'll include them when I reply to your email later this evening... |

I'm in no crazy hurry either, and I was thinking it might be a good idea if I came down on the same day as you both, Pigeon and Brock05, so that there are more of us to move engines about and it is less trips for Paul. If you let me know when you are planning to go I'll try and make the same day.

Just to advise I won't be available over the Easter weekend (at least) as kids plus school holidays come into the equasion! It would have been nice to have my future movements announced earlier! Otherwise can do weekdays as long as agreed in advance. All those who want bits please advise plans when known.

Glad a combined visit works for you. If you can let me know a date and rough time expected near Bognor, as I will be on my way on Friday March 23rd. I don't have a mobile computer and where I'll be staying doesn't have one at all....
I'll PM post code of address of adjacent nursery when date confirmed. Paul |
