YT05XCF S60 D5 SE g/t for sale
Lovely 2005 S60 for sale on eBay no 391933152978 at a very reasonable price of only £3299!
However, I was at BCA Bridgwater on Monday when I very nearly bought it .......for ...........£900! The only thing that put me off is that it needs a new alarm siren. How can they justify this mark up? Ok I know they've got overheads but really!!!!

So the guy has bid £900 of his own money, will be paying a buyers fee (could be in the region of £357 if he's an occasional buyer according to BCA fees).
Then he needs to transport it, let's say £100. Then he has to prepare it, let's say it needs a pair of tyres (£150) a wheel bearing (£80) and a smart repair to a bumper (£80). Then he has to include a warranty (say £300). Assuming he sells for £3000 he will also pay VAT on the difference between the sale price and the purchase price (NOT including the repairs), so another £420. So for putting his own capital at risk, he's 'made' £1033 before paying for his rent, staff wages and other overheads. At the extreme end, it could need a gearbox refurb and PAS rack and he could be lucky to break even. You can't win them all and auction cars must be a hell of a lottery no? I'm not up for defending dealers but I reckon there are easier ways to make a living. Nobody has to pay the asking price, and equally, anyone could have gone to auction and put their arm in the air. EDITED TO ADD: Your listing number didn't work, but I assume it's this car? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0505-VOLV...IAAOSwICpaGGwa I reckon he'll be lucky to get £2500 realistically, but it certainly looks lovely doesn't it? It does sound like he won't have much money in prep and not much of a warranty, but I still hope he gets a fair price and makes a decent return. I always wish people to do well to be honest, as long as they are doing things fairly and playing by the rules I just paid £2229 for my 2004 V70 from a 'trade only' sales yard that provides no warranty, strictly trade terms. They did no prep to the car whatsoever. Luckily the car spoke for itself and has full Volvo service history, but having traced the original owner he confirmed he sold to a car buying place for £1350, so someone has 'made' £879 for doing pretty much nothing. I don't grudge a penny though, you either agree a price you are happy with or move on.
