Default Windscreen Wiper motor 1965 Amazon

Please can anyone help with some advice . My motor assembly is the type with two wires moving the spindles . One of the wires has come off ,not broken and although Ive tried to relocate it under the dash back onto its spindle it comes off after just a couple of sweeps . Is there any way of tightening the wire loop somehow ?
Alternatively would a later type motor be a straightforward substitute? Is the wiring any different ? I think I have later type from a pv in my host of spares ,seems more like a rod system ?
Any advice gratefully received

Thank You

R;

I call that the Cable-on-Cam system...it was used on the 1800, and it replaces the Segment Gearbox typical on Amazons, one for one. If nothing has broken, cable can be replaced onto Cam, and tension adjusted, but you would be well advised to remove the entire assembly from the car first (remove Heater Controls first for improved access).

PV Wiper system are not directly compatible, mechanically or electrically.

Hello Ron
Thank you for your quick response . Can you tell me how the cable can be tensioned please? I can get it to relocate on the spindle but i guess it needed tightening ideally to stop it coming adrift again . The cable seems ok .where is the tensioner located please ?

Nuts 22 not 32. Check rivets 13 for looseness. Can be pop riveted to secure again. Removing it all from the car gives you a chance to clean ad relube. It may need that.
