No, not my father: Chopin and Rachmaninov were more his bag.

But you might perhaps gain inspiration if you were to go for a quick lap of Brands in a Bugatti, or a circuit of the airfield in a fighter jet, or otherwise take A Short Ride in a Fast Machine...

Ah, got it! I saw the John Adams connection but needed to Google 'My Father ..........' Every day is a school day, thank you for the education!

I must apologise to the OP for hijacking this thread, these things happen unintentionally, sorry.

I think it has been fun, even if I don't understand a fair bit of the banter!

Apologies from me too, Rhys! Angie and I are both music enthusiasts...

Charles Ives was a American composer active in the first half of the 20th century, and his works include "The Unanswered Question" and "Central Park in the Dark". John Adams is an American composer alive and well today, whose works include "My Father Knew Charles Ives" (he didn't, but never mind!) and "Short Ride in a Fast Machine". Angie and I were just playing with titles.

No real connection with manuals whatsoever!

No apologies needed. I just "You tubed" both of those titles, certainly a bit "alternative" for an old percussionist like me.
