Exclamation 1.9d 2002 problems

Hello,

After few months away from the fórum, my wife v40 made me come back.

Problem : When start the engine the "Service" light stays on for 2 or 3 minutes, then turns off. Turbo only kicks in after the 2000 rpm, and if I recall, used to be a bit earlier. Anyway, today I went for a few kilometers to see this small problems my wife complains about, and yes, she´s right.

For precaution, exchanged coolant and thermostat valve, nothing improved.
Went for another drive around the block and engine went far worst. seems to be running on 3 cylinder... noisy, rattles... difficulties to start the engine again.

Tomorrow will exchange the oil, I think it´s 5W40, correct?

Any tips about what might be?

Thank you

Just over 5 litres of 5w40 29th a new filter.

I used an idle oil flush on my 1.9d in it's last oil change on 170k and it's made mine run nicer, some people will tell you to avoid them so make of that information as you will.

Worth changing you air and fuel filters whilst you're at it too.

Fuel filter is under the fuse box at the top right, change the rubber gaskets and towards the drivers side there's a rubber balloon to squeeze to prime the fuel system before switching the car back on.

Pollen filter for the cabin air is just a few quid whilst you're there too. It's in the passenger footwell with a rectangular plastic cover holding it in to remove.

Search on here how to reset the service light and that will stop that light coming back on for a while.

How long does the glowplug light stay on for after turning the key to the run position before you crank the engine?

Changed the oil and filters today, got a bit better, but still the engine seems very noisy and lack of power... I don´t see the glowplug light. Not sure if ever seen it.

Anyway, contacted the mechanic few minutes ago and my wife will take the van to check it out. Just hope it´s nothing major.

Thank you
