This guy was right!!! I just held the bhutane source close to the injectors, and the idle rpms dropped like a rock. Didn't test this area first time. Also, I really punished the car on the motorway today, and all of a sudden, the water temp was way high (needle almost touching the red area). As far as I know, this is a sign of a lean condition. I think i found the problem

classic swede is one of those forum members who usually are right.
I know nufnck about K jet, and even less about LH which my car has. But from reading the forum, as soon as I hear worries about K jet running problems I think, injector seals. If that is not the problem, look next for loose or damaged tubing. I think K jet has a reputation as a reliable system? |

Yup, true. It's used in a lot of different cars. Also fairly good for tuning, as far as I know. Very simple system with very little electronics

Air leaks are by far the biggest cause of running problems with the K jet system. Injector seals being the most common followed by the inlet manifold gasket.

Oh bugger! Just changed all the seals (one thin o-ring and one thick o-ring per injector). Used silicone as lubrication.
The car still runs ****, and it won't even idle now!! It's makes a little whistling noise when the throttle is moved abruptly.. The injectors and the slots in the cylinder head were also dirty as hell! Didn't really clean the dirt in the cylinder head, as I didn't want to get grit in the cylinders.. What do I do |

The plastic holders can distort with age and might need replacing.
I would probably pull the manifold to clean it all up and stick some new plastic holders in with new seals |

Can't keep sticking money in this car.. I might be better off with selling this one and getting another. Thanks for the help anyway

How much money is involved? Probably not much compared to typical motoring costs, and in the reality that your car is beginning to go up in value when most cars depreciate.
General rule is. Get a strong bodywork car and the mechanics can be sorted. And as has been mentioned above, your car has few electronics. . Last edited by Stephen Edwin; Mar 16th, 2017 at 13:40. |
