Arrow Glove box mechanism repair

Hi I could not find this on the forum so thought it may be worth a post with photos.

Symptom, glove box not fastening shut, unless it was really slammed.

First I removed the middle three T25 torx screw on the inside of the glove box lid.
The lock mechanism then just lifts out complete.

The problem was obvious, the outer catch spindle had slipped out of its mounting, allowing the catch to rotate out of line so it would not lock. The cause appears to have been some paper getting caught in the mechanism and forcing it out of position.

The outer catch was manoeuvred back in to position with thin nose pliers.

The mechanism was checked to see it worked ok and lubricated with silicon spray.

When closed the catches rotate against the springs, and are then locked in position as the slider bar under spring pressure moves to the left, locking them.
Lifting the handle pulls the slider bar to the right, and the catches spring open.

The mechanism clips and screws back in, first ensure that both catches are in the open position and the lever (that the handle pulls down on) is located below the peg on the lock mechanism.
