hi guys what bulbs do people have for their headlights...ive got 55 plate xc90....my headlights self level on start up.. (are these bi xenons?)
they are bluey colour to start then go yellowy.... want some nice bright white/bluey tint bulbs... done a couple of little bits to mine led side lights and number plate bulbs and led reverse lights and love the look it gives.. has anyone changed interior lights for the led bulbs? whats peoples views?
also how to i get to the puddle light bulbs without prising it out and it breaking?

My view:

I like the standard OEM look and robustness/reliability.

The reflectors of the OEM bulb housings are built based on the focal point of a tungsten filament bulb, which is very different to an LED, no matter what type of LED you fit.

So as an Engineer I'll stay true to good design, high quality and robustness, and only replace like for like should I ever experience a bulb failure.

Unlikely on that age, more likely to be plain Xenon projector headlamps, the Bi-Xenon's have the turning mechanism 2007 on I believe.

Maybe someone else can confirm?

Hope it helps

Actually even the original xenon lights are Bi-xenon as they tilt up on full beam but they are reflector type ones rather than projector. I believe there is even some years with projector on that aren't the bending ones.
I have the original style ones and they are easy to spot as the are all silver rather than just the reflector part with the rest Black as per the halogen ones. I believe they kept the silver theme with the later ones as well.

I find the standard ones are very bright, as long as the beam pattern is adjusted properly

If you go for brighter bulbs you often get shorter bulb lifespan, so be aware of the compromise

My 05 has the bi-xenons like yours, although they dont really go yellow they stay pretty white, not sure if that indicates the bulbs might be on their way out or if mine have been swapped to ones with a whiter light?!

That said I find mine to be more than bright enough, compared to my Seat they are loads better in terms of general visibility and on full beam they are very good.

I would just stick with the standard bulbs,

Cheers
