Default Maf ????

How do I know if my MAF is duff? I unplugged it and there wasn't a great deal of difference in running. I have thought for a little while now that the car is not performing as it should, it really struggles to pull the skin from custard and I think it should be a whole lot more responsive. Can it be checked with a multimeter and if so, how?
Thanks
Chris

you can connect a multimeter to a MAF but you also need en air-flow. Besides, this only wud make sense if you know the original datas for your MAF to compare those with the actual outputs.
Normally if you have a real problems with this unit, your CEL light wud come on. In your case, if you feel performance loss, I wud sugg to clean the MAF unit with CRC-Maf-Cleaner or with an electronic-contact-cleaner, aerosol spray and let it dry 10 minutes b4 refitting. In any case do not touch the platine wire inside, they are 0,07mm !!

I've got a spare MAF that i'm never going to use any more (non-volvo owner now!). It works fine, and was from a 2001 T4.

if you're interested, PM me.
