pump up rear shocks
Hi my 850se has a tow bar fitted and i think pump up rear shocks with an airline conector in the boot the label advises min 14psi max 80psi ihave tried this on various settings in between 14/80psi it does not seem to alter the ride quality at all. However the rear of the car sounds bangy it clunks and bangs away everyone i have spoken to blames the air shocks any advise on how i may cure this it appears all is well with bushes and so on.It really is clunky.
THANKS PETER |

RE: pump up rear shocks
I suspect you need new shocks. You can fit self leveling shocks, Eurocarparts do them, German & Swedish to I presume.

RE: pump up rear shocks
Hi Peter,
Yep, that sounds like the back shocks have gone. While you are at it replace the rubber mounts as these are know to fail also, they were under-engineered. I personally purchased all mine from Volvo but europarts do both they will have to order them in i guess, you'll probally same a few bob. I would though go to Volvo and get new mounting nuts for the shocks as they are a bugger to get off when old like mine were after 8 years ! mark.
