Bought a 2.0D last week (2005) and have driven a 130bhp Passat for the last 18 months, but the difference in power is huge!

I'm wondering if it was remapped at some stage. On wet roads, taking off with a good bit of throttle, but not totally thrashing it.....I get wheelspin in 1st, 2nd AND 3rd gear! The tyres are not new, but probably still 50-60%

Surely a stock 2.0D won't spin the wheels right up to 3rd gear??

yeh that sounds very weird, id defenitly check your tires. Im running Toyo Proxies for dry roads and are rubbish in wet and can put foot down without wheel spin in 3rd absolutely fine.

Might be a good idea to get it on a rolling road

After vw Passat 1.9 tdi with 130 hp Fords 136 hp 2.0 d feels really sharp. I can tell it also feels a lot sharper and pulls stronger then B6 passat with 2.0 tdi 140 hp since my wife is already having a second of those.
