I've had a towbar fitted, the dealer now says I need a £79 software update.
Anyone had it done?

As far as I know it is needed to tell the fog light to switch off and de-activate the reverse sensors (if fitted) when the trailer lights are plugged in and activate the indicator repeater light on the dashboard.

I was told it is something to do with the anti-skid control as well, anybody know?

You are quite correct.

It activates the trailer stability control.

It deactivates the stop/start on mine too when connected

who fitted the towbar? you mean they forgot to quote for the electrics and trailer module to interface the lights to the car? that is very expensive just for software ..
