Load cover query (855).
I hadn't really thought about it before but when I came to packing something long and high (a tree) in my car at the w/e I found a small irritation. Basically the load cover (when retracted) limits the height of whatever object you may be dealing with when it needs to be pushed in further than the back of the rear seats. Does anyone know if the load cover has any kind of quick release capability, I gave it a tug and a wriggle but to no avail it seems pretty solid. If not, I might have to investigate some means of being able to flip it out when necessary - bolts and wingnuts as a last resort :D

If your load cover is the same as mine, then all you need do is pull either of the (sprung) end covers away from the window about an inch and the whole unit will lift out of place. Its dead easy, reverse the procedure to put it back, either end first.

Same on my V70, just give em a good tug away from the window as Jim says.
