Default newbie to volvos/auto headlight adjusting problem

Hi everybody,
As title says, just bought my first Volvo, a c30 d5, and enjoying it muchly
Although I have an issue with drivers side headlight, it is not auto adjusting 90% of the time. very occasionally it will level itself, but normally it just points at the floor.
After searching on here, figured its not the load control arm things in the back end as surely that would affect both lights.
Any and all ideas very welcome, thanks in advance guys.

First question is does your car have HID lamps or the standard Halogens.
As both these systems although look similair are completley different?

The standard system is set low from the factory and the electric adjusters can fail and as these are independent can cause the lights to be at uneven heights.
The electric adjuster in the headlamp although not listed as a seperate part can be replaced.
The adjuster is I can confirm is of a MK3 Ford Mondeo.
You will have to remove the clear headlamp glass (with a hot air torch) and it is a fiddly job.
Also whilst in the headlamp it is a good idea to clean the lense and make sure the reflectors are clean.

I think they are hid's as they have danger of electrocution stickers all over the lights, and as you first turn them on they appear slightly yellow and quickly change to white.

I do not know whether the self levelling on the HID lights is the same as the standard halogen lights (Mondeo 3 levellers).
I suspect it to be different as vehicles with HID units have to be constantly levelled.
Hopefully someone else can help as I do not want to advise on something I have not done before.
But if they are the same levellers as the halogen lights the front acrylic lens has to be removed before you can get inside to change the leveller.
