Default Dash rattle behind steering column

Hi guys,

Hoping you can help. So I have my first issue with my T8 - I guess the teething problems begin. A random rattle has shown up from behind (I think) the steering column. Steering wheel has also developed a slight elastic noise, like a creaking sound of a slowly moved door, when moved. Anyone had anything like this - bit concerned about the dealer pulling it all apart, but guess there's no other option. Be good to know if anyone's had anything like this, and what it was, to try and avoid having to pull too much apart.

Thanks very much.

Maybe I was just listening for it after reading this, but.....

Driving down my close this morning, on electric so no engine noise, Radio 4 unusually was not on, and I noticed that there was a very high pitched but very quiet squeak whilst the wheel was turned. Sounds like the same as your describe.

Think I will just leave the radio on from now on.....

Sorry Philip for drawing your attention to it! I've got mine booked in to be checked next week. Will let you know what it turns out to be. At least then you can get it fixed more easily!!
