I opened the bonnet and got the most delightful message on the dashboard: "Hood Ajar". It has obviously American English overtones but also I think - appropriately enough - it sounds vaguely Scandinavian!

There seems to be many clever people who read the Volvo forum, and I wonder therefore if someone might be able to hack into the messaging system and amend the wording for something within the English vernacular.

There has to be some computer code with the wording somewhere.

It could be worse, it might have said "your hood is popped"

Considering that a Volvo dealer installing a Volvo towbar with Volvo towbar software managed to corrupt my main computer and take the car off the road for 2 days, I am unlikely to trust a hacker with a laptop! Especially for something as benign as a warning message wording.......

Volvo must have language packs for other countries so the messages appear in the native tongue so it's not much to ask for them to do packs for English (EN) and English (US).
My "Trunk Lid Open" message always makes me wince.
