Like I said Alex I really don't know what's causing genuine parts to fail.
2 garages have done this, I supplied the genuine parts for the second one including all new crush washers and hollow screws as well as the pipe from Volvo. The results are evident - 6 months is really bad. Whilst I can't speak for all Dealerships, the Brand name is simply something they have access to the name to use. It has no relevance to experience or know how with mechanics. Instead they are mostly sales people interested in getting you out of your car and into your generic diesel on finance sir deal for their benefit. They also charge diagnostic desperate to the fix rather than built in to get extra money. My local dealership said they would have to remove the turbo (at great expense) to fit this simple part. If you know someone at a dealer or are convinced you have a good one then fair play and I know you do due to your uncle Alex but it's getting harder to find genuine people with a genuine interest for people - I am still on the look out for one of these We aren't talking level 500 mechanics here , it's a simply pipe with 2 banjo fittings and the part is failing here as you can see not the joint due to the reuse of the washers. Of course , if someone knows a way in which poor fitting of this exact part would lead to extreme premature failure of the part - I am all ears because that's the ultimate answer for me at this stage. Thanks for everyone's comments

James, I recommend that you message Tim on T5D5 and next time you're seeing your girlfriend pop in and get him to do it.
He's not far from her and at least you'll know it's done properly and he'll absolutely fix it FOC if there's an issue. He's a great bloke and if he wasn't close to 150 miles from me I'd use him all the time lol. He's genuinely one of the only people that's in it to fix peoples cars, not make money. He was nothing but help when my HG kept going, I only paid for it once, after that he didn't care about money and just did whatever he could to get it running right again.
