Default Unidentified warning : audio/vib'/horizontal red line

Hi all,

After some advice for a warning we received and possible cause. Have trawled the manual online and can't find anything remotely helpful.

Better half drove our new XC90 momentum (inc. intellisafe minus adaptive cruise) this morning and reported the following:

Just started up parallel parked and pulled out into street, as pulling away at low speed experienced vibration/audio warning and a horizontal red line "in the display". Instance was over in a second or two so only momentarily and no clue what caused it. Daughter believes the audio was similar to cross traffic tone as she has heard that, and she also believes there may have been a cat/squirrel between car and side of road. City (animal) safe?!

I am assuming the vibration was either wheel vibration warning system or auto braking? Other half cannot confirm as not used to the wheel vibration yet (ie. lane warning that I am familiar with now), but she felt momentarily like she did not have control (which suggests auto braking to me vice vibrating wheel). I have yet to witness city safe in action, but am assuming that is what occurred - but why?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Cheers
Ross

Not sure about red lines. I know of is flashing red car icon on HUD - never look at driver display when it happens. That's when it auto breaks or more often just tugs at the breaks in to pretensed them so if you slam them it will be quicker. The only other alert I know of is cross trafic of any kind when reversing - that's lower tone and it flashes red areas on the main screen indicating on radar car map where the traffic is. Vibration would only be on auto lane control, perhaps she confused city safe tugging at the breaks for vibration.
I am assuming yours was city safe. What often causes triggers it for me is double parked narrow street when I am not pointing straight down the middle (weaving or bend in the road AND am accelerating briskly or going at certain speed. The software thinks you are going to hit the car you are pointing at if you don't correct. Lower speed or gentle acceleration in the same situation and it doesn't happen. It's possible that she was accelerating enthusiastically at an angle whilst coming out of her parking space and the street was quite narrow and she was aimed at another car.
